EV Charger Installation in Toronto & the GTA

Home charging for Tesla, Grizzl-E and every Level 2 charger — installed by a licensed electrician, sized to your panel, permitted and inspected to ESA code.

The best EV charging happens overnight in your own driveway — but only if the install is done properly. A dedicated Level 2 circuit charges up to several times faster than a standard wall outlet, and doing it to code protects your car, your home and your warranty.

Kiyan Electric installs home chargers across Toronto, Richmond Hill, Markham, Vaughan and the GTA. We don't just bolt a charger to the wall — we assess your panel, plan the cleanest cable route, and size everything for the car you drive now and the one you'll drive next.

The 100-amp panel question

Plenty of GTA homes still run a 100-amp service, and adding a 40- or 48-amp charger to that can push it over the edge. That doesn't always mean a panel upgrade. Often an electrical load-management system lets the charger back off automatically when the rest of the house is drawing power — safe, code-compliant, and cheaper than a full upgrade. When an upgrade genuinely is the better call, we'll tell you why.

Load management

Smart devices that let a charger share a busy panel's capacity — so a 100A home can often charge without a full service upgrade.

Questions we hear a lot

EV Charger Installation: your questions, answered

Can you install a charger on my existing 100-amp panel?

Often, yes. If there's spare capacity we add a dedicated 240V circuit. If your panel is tight — common on 100A homes with A/C and electric appliances — we can install an electrical load-management device so the charger shares capacity safely, or recommend a panel upgrade. We work it out before we quote.

Do you install Tesla and other brands?

Yes — Tesla Wall Connectors, Grizzl-E, and every major Level 2 charger, plus NEMA 14-50 outlets if you'd rather plug in a mobile connector. We'll help you choose if you haven't bought one yet.

Do EV charger installations need an ESA permit?

Yes. EV charger and dedicated 240V circuit installs require an ESA permit and inspection in Ontario. We handle the permit and inspection as part of the job.

What affects the cost?

Mainly the distance from your panel to the charger, whether the run is indoor or outdoor, your panel's spare capacity, and whether load management or a panel upgrade is needed. We give you the real number upfront after looking at your setup.

How long does it take?

A typical home EV charger install is a few hours to most of a day, depending on the cable run and whether any panel work is involved. We'll confirm with your estimate.
