Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting in the GTA

Flickering lights, tripping breakers, dead outlets, warm switches — found and fixed properly by a licensed electrician, not patched over.

Most electrical problems are a symptom, not the disease. A tripping breaker, a flickering light, a warm outlet — they're all your electrical system telling you something is off. The fix is easy once you know the cause; the danger is in ignoring it or patching the wrong thing.

Kiyan Electric diagnoses and repairs residential and commercial electrical faults across Richmond Hill, Toronto and the GTA. A licensed electrician tracks the problem to its source, explains what's going on in plain language, and fixes it to code — so it stays fixed.

What we get called for most

  • Breakers that trip or fuses that blow again and again
  • Flickering or dimming lights, and lights that buzz
  • Dead outlets, warm or discoloured outlets and switches
  • Aluminum wiring remediation for older GTA homes
  • Adding or moving outlets, switches, dimmers and GFCIs
  • Safety inspections and code corrections for sales and insurance

Don't ignore these

When to call an electrician now

Sparks or burning smell

A burning smell, sparking at an outlet, or scorch marks are emergencies. Shut off the circuit if you safely can and call us right away — 24/7.

Repeated tripping

A breaker that won't stay on, or fuses that keep blowing, points to an overload or fault worth finding before it becomes damage.

Warm outlets & aluminum wiring

Warm or discoloured outlets and older aluminum wiring are known fire risks — and common insurance flags. We make them safe.

Questions we hear a lot

Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting: your questions, answered

My breaker keeps tripping — is that dangerous?

A breaker that trips is doing its job, but one that trips repeatedly is telling you something — an overloaded circuit, a failing appliance, or a fault in the wiring. It's worth having a licensed electrician find the cause rather than just resetting it. We diagnose it properly and fix the root problem.

Why do my lights flicker?

Flickering can be harmless (a loose bulb) or a warning sign — a loose connection, an overloaded circuit, an aging panel, or a utility issue. Because some causes are genuine fire risks, we track down exactly why and fix it, rather than guessing.

Do you fix aluminum wiring?

Yes. Many GTA homes built in the 1960s–70s have aluminum branch wiring, which insurers increasingly flag. We remediate it safely — typically with approved copper pigtailing at connections — to make the home safer and insurable.

Do you charge for a diagnostic visit?

We give free estimates for defined work. For troubleshooting an intermittent fault, we'll explain any diagnostic charge upfront before we start — no surprises. Whatever we find, you'll get an honest recommendation, not a scare tactic.

Can you come out today?

For true electrical emergencies — sparking, burning smells, no power — we offer 24/7 response across the GTA. For non-urgent repairs we'll book the soonest convenient time. Call and we'll tell you honestly how fast we can be there.

Something not working right?

Describe what's happening — when it started, which room, what you've noticed. We'll get a licensed electrician on it and send an honest estimate.
